Aggrieved / Cold Case split ep, Heavy Hitter 4 Pre- Show, Inventory Clearance Sale

Temperatures have shot back up to the 100’s once again after few short days of blissful 90 degree weather. If you are a reader outside of North Texas, the previous statement sounds crazy. Cut us some slack. It is apparent this is the only part of the entire nation with triple digit temperatures. It’s pleasant to know we are the only metropolis area burning to a crisp as we speak. Fortunately, Ballista is currently beating the heat. The gang is in NYC getting ready to perform at the Tribes Fest. While the 817 boys are currently touring the hottest state in America, tickets for the 10 annual FYA fest sold out as quickly as it was announced. It felt like only a few hours went by before it was official. I didn’t eat lunch by that time, I was contemplating on whether I should take a nap by the time FYA announced all tickets were sold. I’d give it a few more months, people will end up selling their tickets. If you were unable to get a ticket, I encourage you to keep a watchful eye around Nov-Dec. Without further ado, let’s talk about a few things.
Aggrieved/ Cold Case Split ep
Upstate Records is an independent record label out of Upstate New York and , known for it’s roster of some of the finest and definitive metallic hardcore I’ve heard in a while. It makes perfect sense for Upstate to release a compatible split of heavy hardcore, connecting on side of the world to the next. Yesterday the label dropped the Aggrieved (UK) and Cold Case (TX) split ep, available on any of your preferred streaming service. The 4 pack ep runs just shy of 11 minutes and features 4 heavy hardcore bangers to start your morning workout. Although there is a clear distinction between the bands, when listening to the ep altogether, it presented a bit of unintentionally cohesiveness. It was as if the songs were strategically placed in a particular order to make the project whole. Nonetheless, the release is the perfect mixture of metallic riffs, hardcore breakdowns, thrashy elements and chucky two-step parts. You can never go wrong as long as you have a band for the 817 in the mix. To grab some merch and listen to the ep, make sure to tap the image above.
Heavy Hitters IV Pre Show
Another announcement dropped yesterday, the stacked line up for the Heavy Hitter IV pre show. Held at the same venue for the main show, the pre show features some literal heavy hitters all across the south. San Antonio’s hardcore death metallers Realms of Death will be headling this event. Florida’s Migrant Fury and Cold Steel are stopping by to strut their stuff. Price of Life is a dope band from New Mexico/Arizona I wasn’t aware of until the other day. I really enjoy their fast tempo tunes and am now curious as to what else the Southwest has going on. The pre show wouldn’t be complete without some of Houston’s young guns; By tha Sword and Tejano hardcore band LIE. Tap the image above to get your tickets!
