We are now reaching the final trimester of 2023. As fast as 2024 is approaching, there is still time for some tomfoolery to occur. With that said, Ballista is set to drag mayhem across North America again. This time, the gang is headed back to Canada to for the super stacked festival, Hold Your Ground. Taking place in Ontario, this is the 2nd annual Hold Your Ground event featuring 2 days of non -stop hardcore assault. At first glance, the lineup is sick enough to make any hardcore kid want to immediately cross the border. No Warning, Harms Way, End It, Dead Heat and Canada’s finest PROWL, the list goes on. Furthermore, it would be unlike Ballista to not have at least a handful of shows surrounding an awesome fest such as HYG. As I’m writing this, I can’t think of any band in the past 5 years who has introduced me to my love of slam. It wasn’t until I became aware of Peeling Flesh is when I realized what slam is and how awesome of a extreme metal subgenre it is. When its boils down to the musicianship, it takes some serious chops to formulate the various musical components, in my opinion. Furthermore, live performances are crazy fun to look at. In smaller intimate setting, the mosh can reach a high level of intimidation and danger. For those who like to achieve massive gains in the gym, adding Peeling Flesh to your session maximizes energy for the eccentric movements, creating more muscles mass.

I love when I see new bands in the area off to a huge jumpstart. It brings the inspiration for new bands to start. 817’s latest chaotic metalcore band Misanthrope has been on a roll recently. Their Demo 2023 released earlier this month was 4 pack of moshtastic bangers for the young guns to spinkick to. Earlier today the band released physical merch, including t -shirts and tapes, through new independent record company RSRecords. Currently, both products are in production and will ship when in hand.
