Meka Jackson- Hoolies in Matrix

Social tension has been brewing for quite a while. For many generations, The United States of America has been a melting pot for civil unrest, social injustice, media and political propaganda, many forms of racial inequalities, from micro to blatant examples and so much more. U.S. citizens are living in the modern civil war zone that deeply effects the mental state on its countrymen and women. The President Election of 2020 has created a form of separation that goes far beyond the superficial. Relationships among people have been put on the chopping block due to political views and opinions, the far left and the far right are relentless in destroying each other with facts, opinions and angst meanwhile leaving the citizens in the middle ( those who agree with different points on both sides of politics) wondering who to vote for. The unsettling dynamic is reaching it’s boiling point as we edge closer to Nov 4th.

Enter Meka Jackson: Los Angeles born renaissance man, jack of all trades and independent mogul who currently resides in Dallas, Texas releases and thought provoking and emotionally driven visual for Hoolies in Matrix.

Shot by Jeff Adair, the visual for Hoolies in Matrix provides an internal perspective on the vicious cycle of the prison industrial complex that has terrorized POC for many generations. Fueled by capitalism, Reganomics and greed, the prison industrial complex has created a sense of self hatred, crime, street code, ethics and division among men that perpetuates Meka’s rage. His emotion inspired this visual on such a daunting subject, “Anarchy becomes the only resolution but money and capitalism perpetuate the same rat race. The inevitable, nothing changes!” he expressed. Blessed with the mind and platform to creatively curate this visual, Meka’s reminder on the grim reality we face compels his fans to not forget that “politics, the police and racism is a distraction to the systems in place and that the power structures remain..”
