Flyover Fest 2026

Oklahoma- In the distant past, the few things that came to mind when I think about the state directly north of Texas included late nights at the Choctaw Casino, red dirt, Black Wall Street, Garth Brooks and Turner Falls. Pardon my ignorance. Nonetheless, Oklahoma was seldom on my radar…until late 2019/ early 2020.

My formal introduction to Oklahoma’s thriving hardcore scene began around Promcore 2021. Unbeknownst to me at the time, Tulsa hosted an annual fest that has been around for a while. In addition, the energy surrounding OKHC was a bit mysterious to me . Granted, I was fully aware of Oklahoma’s music scene and it’s existence for years, I’d be a fool to say otherwise. After Promcore, I gave Oklahoma my fully attentive ear and became a fan of their brand of distinctive heaviness.

For the past several years onward, the attention towards Oklahoma has undeniably increased. From OKC current slam legends Peeling Flesh and heavy hardcore band CELL , to Free 4 All, Shattered Youth and Stand your Ground, to the lovely people at Backroom Productions and Mass Movement and much more, all playing an integral part in maintaining the proper representation of this particular southern state. At this point, Oklahoma is everywhere.

As we know, this year’s Flyover Fest has been announced. At first glance, I imagined the amount of stagedives and singalongs are going to be executed. After looking at the rest of the flyer, I imagined how much more fun the fest is going to be. Let’s a brief look at this lineup. What’s the first few bands you see? Have Heart on their 20th year anniversary tour, Pain of Truth, Comeback Kid, No Warning, Rotting Out, Madball, Division of Mind, Drug Church and Downpresser. That’s enough for any hardcore kid to immediately purchase a ticket without a second thought. It’s imperative for me to mention the Texas presence on this lineup: Ancient Ones, Beyond Reach, Kitetsu, Mass Appeal, and Tiger Splitter. Furthermore, the remainder of the lineup is stacked to the brim with talent, something you don’t want to miss.
