Sunami’s late-night drop was a trip. I was in my robe, on the couch, watching Commando when I took a glance at Twitter to find out about the release. At this time, the self -titled album has been out for 30 minutes (Arnold Schwarzeneggar was tossing a telephone booth in the mall looking for buddy with the wide jawline) and it was 11:30 p.m central. It was similar to ordering Door Dash right before restaurants close and being surprised that you got everything you ordered. After Commando, I sat up on the couch and began to play the album. I am going to declare this a modern classic. The album is going to be a body of work regarded in eyes of future hardcore kids and heavy music enthusiast as legendary. The artwork is undoubtedly in direct correspondence between visual and auditory art.

This album is the continuation on Sunami’s brand of hardcore this generation feeds on: uniquely mastered and utterly intimidating breakdowns, Benny’s amazing talent behind the drum kit ( that snare is insane) including precision blast beats and double pedal of thunder and those San Jose beatdown riffs. To top it off, straight to the bone lyrics, leaving no question as to how or where they’re coming from. Needless to say, this is the current tone of modern hardcore with Sunami leading the trail.

Local Menace Clothing/ SO WHAT Collab

Local Menace is an artist owned and operated street apparel brand out of Dallas. I’ve had my eye on their apparel for a little while and I must say, they have some super dope threads. This summer, they decided to heat things up with the Glizzy Gang design, in collaboration with the So What Festival. This shirt is available for pre- order. Shirts will be available to pick up at their booth at the festival so there will be no shipping available. Tap the image above to snag your pre-order!

Legendary Weapons- Demo 2023

When it comes to the real deal hardcore, there’s no way one can go wrong with the raw sound of classic straight-edge hardcore. Enter Legendary Weapons: Portland, Oregon vegan straight- edge collaborative project including Davis Driver (Life Force) and Sky Page ( Safe and Sound, Cuttiing Through). Fast hardcore combined with kung-fu influenced lyrics, Legendary Weapons satisfies the need for those who lean on the roots of hardcore from previous generations, away from the ignorant breakdown and crowdkilling mosh parts
