Sahati - Ego2Go

As we grow into ourselves and continue our journey through our lives, we are greeted with many obstacles and road blocks that challenges our previous notions. Through this journey comes the trials and tribulations that compels us to question what we know and forces us to change our perspectives. In this single, Ego2Go, Albanian artist Sahati expresses certain points in her journey that currently affected her the most.

The smoother than molasses, mellow vibe equipped with the leading sounds of a jazzy saxophone accompanied by a lo-fi hip hop beat that is reminiscent of the mid 90’s, Sahati tells Bored that her inspiration for this song included artists Rejjie Snow, SZA and Kali Uchis. Her goal was to create a song you could vibe to and chill with but also incorporate an element of a dance song as well. The grooviness of Ego2Go fits perfectly with her adolescent, singing voice. Lyrically, Sahati expresses the realization that the people she thought she knew are not who they appear to be and figuring out who she wants to keep close to her.
