Bad Company Ent artist Josh Young releases “Young Season vol 1”
Bad Company Ent newest artist Josh Young has released his long awaited ep “Young Season Vol 1” available now on SoundCloud.
Personally, I’ve waited to hear a project from artist the East Los Angeles artist Josh Young for a little while. From being an audience member to exchanging a few words, I always thought he had some special. Young Season Vol 1 is jammed packed with 10 songs and is roughly 33 minutes long. I was compelled to ask about his influences and he answered with a wide range of artists including: Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Bone Thugs, Kid Cudi, 6lack and Toro y Moi, just to name a few.

To be honest, I am quite impressed at the entirety of this project. It’s not a ep full of bangers and mosh heavy rap that I expected, the level of versatility was what I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s always refreshing for an artist to expand their craft to more than their expectations. I appreciated the intro into the ep: I translated it as the song that will set the tone for the music that followed. It contained his talent featuring an attractive rhyme scheme and nice use of pronounciation. Throughout the ep, he truly flexes is lyrical abilities , i.e, in songs “Deep 2” and “JHALL”( straight up bars!). The track “Feel Better” slid into my eardrums with less aggressive vocal tracks and the semi cloud rap aesthetic that features ominous piano keys and atmospheric vibes. “Backseat” was the banger I was looking for. With the feature from Gwap Gang member Zaybooty, it’s a guaranteed headbanger and mosh pit induced track that’s a necessity for him to perform. Josh doesn’t cease to feature more artists on the ep including Lil Southside Kaleeks, Pat Ron, 10kTaedoe , Gwapmizzle, Phee6z and a feature I didn’t expect: Trip from Buddha Stoops in the dark, horrorcore-esque outro “Free Trip 2”. Overall, Young Season Vol 1 is a lyrical treat with elements of 90’s hip hop, contemporary rap and a bit of R&B.
