DFW's latest pissed off straight-edge band Think Twice releases demo

The recent flux of new hardcore bands or hardcore influenced bands in the DFW region has been greeted with nothing short of positivity and big turn- outs. Every since the quarantine restrictions have been lifted, the North Texas region has shown the essence of camaraderie with every new band that has entered in the atmosphere. The best part of it all is each band is as distinctive and as talented as the next, there’s no room for comparison of any kind amongst the scene. Over the weekend, DFW’s latest straight-edge band Think Twice released their demo, available on Bandcamp

Just under 5 mins, the Think Twice demo offers straight for the bone vocal delivery that doesn’t shield itself behind growls and screeches, virtually leaves little questioning as to what Daniel is expressing. The tempo of this demo is a bit fast paced while simultaneously hovering around the mid- tempo throughout the demo; perfect for the vocalist to get straight to it without sacrificing too much oxygen. Think Twice carries the youth crew sound and spirit like the Olympic torch, the lyricism is filled with angst as it expresses disapproval of authority, conformity and intolerance for posers in the drug-free lifestyle. The riffage in this demo accommodates this specific brand of hardcore with fight riffs and two step parts, leaving enough room for folks to get in the pit and dance. The attractive characteristics that snatches my attention is the usage of pinch harmonics in the songs Sick of it and Like You, properly executed on guitar by Zane Daniel, it’s that simplicity of the sound followed by the tone that creates a clear distinction amongst other bands, almost like acquiring a signature quality in a particular body of work.
