Andy’s return with Soledad and their latest single, Vergüenza

If you’re a resident of DFW and spent your adolescence in the local hardcore/ metal scene, you’re aware of Andy Zarate and the reputation that precedes him; his niche for heaviness is portrayed in every band he has formed and been apart. When the word breaks out that Andy is in a new band, we expect nothing less than sheer aggression and manpower behind his signature vocals that has the ability to incite a huge bar brawl. Yesterday, Andy’s return was publicized as he shared his new band Soledad with their latest single, Vergüenza, available on Bandcamp.
Vergüenza, ( translated to “shame”) is a song criticizing the police brutality, how the police blatant disregard for human and their shameful deeds. Dedicated to Victoria Salazar, the Salvadoran mother of two who was killed in police custody, the riffage in Vergüenza is wholly intimidating. It possesses the heaviness of the weight of injustice that lays on the innocent hearts and wailing souls. A Xibalba overtone with Andy’s twist produces the perfect ass beater song DFW has heard in a while. It’s a mean and ugly monster that unleashed its rages through barbaric harshness formed from the fusion hardcore and death metal characteristics.
