Danny Goo’s So in Love ft Lil Lotus

Early this morning, at the stroke of midnight I’m assuming, DFW’s favorite heartthrob Danny Goo released a melancholy single that yanks at your tear ducts, So in Love, featuring Lil Lotus which probably explains why he has been in California for a bit.

Danny continues to showcase his vocal talent that comfortably stays in the range that is fitting for those who are fans of the early 2000’s emo/indie/ pop wave. His vocals, along with the lyrical content and the visual aesthetic is not only appealing to the younger audience, his constant display of his vulnerability captures his audience in a very relatable way. It’s the kind of music that can cause you to reminisce about a former lover.

Let’s keep it real: we all suffered a harsh break up that made us feel like it was totally our fault and the healing process was simply unbearable at the time. So in Love, as stated in the article presented in Variance Magazine , summarizes Danny’s struggle of a break up that still lingers inside his mind; a “dark place” that he experienced that came out to be a great song. What I notice in this track is growth and improvement; his level of songwriting has stepped up a notch, almost as if it is a tad more mature and more engaging. It’s not difficult to feel the intensity of his emotions, as if he is singing to you. Sonically, the song has a better sound quality and production behind it, thanks to Centineo Studios. The mixing/ mastering and engineering helped shape Danny’s sound and steers away from the lo fi sound from Danny’s earlier tracks. The Lil Lotus feature is a smart move as it’s like the added cherry on top of a banana split ice sundae; Lil Lotus high pitched boy band-esque vocals fits the track to perfection
