Blake Cris’ Blue Magic out now!

Although many American citizens disregarded the national holiday that falls on the 4th of July in response to the past and very present issues concerning police brutality and racial inequality ( some of the few issues in our current world), many were with family and friends as they enjoyed their company, igniting fireworks from the hood to country side, despite Greg Abbott’s effort to keep Texans safe by enforcing wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing. To the ears that are tapped into the local vibes, fireworks wasn’t the only thing poppin; hip hop artist Blake Cris released his single titled “Blue Magic”.

The soothing sound of the chilled hip hop instrumental spilled from my AirPods and into my ears, similar to a comfortable Sunday evening with John Coltrane filling in the airwaves. Recording artists that chose this type of beat to flow on usually, about 92% of artists I listen to, deliver lyrical content that’s worth taking time out of your day to punctiliously listen to what they are expressing. Blake Cris doesn’t hold up back on Blue Magic; for two minutes and forty four seconds he dominates the beat with unfiltered bars. If you pay enough attention, you can feel the vibrations of authenticity and it’s much appreciated. Like many of his peers, he possesses a raw talent behind the mic that can’t be replicated.
