Jarren Benton releases “The Old Me” featuring Shaolin G

2014 XXL’s Freshman Jarren Benton reflects on his former self and pays homage to his fan base in his newly released single titled “The Old Me”. True Jarren Benton fans are well of aware of Jarren’s early comical horror core influenced lyricism and experimental sounds as he makes plenty of references. With that said, the metal guitar riff that fills majority of the single is no surprise but intriguing in this track with usage of trap style 808 drums . The real treat is the feature: The honorable Shaolin G, lead singer of Unity TX , filling in for the chorus. The rap metal overtone comes to a halt that smoothly transition to somewhat of a electropop/ trap song, it serves as a clever way to end the song
