Yellow broadcast's latest album and visual release

Dallas/ Abilene Latino hip hop duo, Yellow Broadcast released their sophomore album Sittin’ on Daytons earlier this month followed by the crispy clean visual for the single, Stutter Step.
As opposed to the predecessor, Juiced, available on all platforms, Sittin on Daytons is oozing with Texas sauce from its pores. From first song title, Swangin and Bangin, I was able to tell I was embarking on 18 minutes of heavy Texas influenced jam session. This addition to the duo creates a level of seriousness in their Lone Star State pride that is difficult to not mention. Sonically, Sittin’ on Daytons, possesses a bit more grit to the overall mood that it has. It’s certainly a project you should listen all the way through, no skips, just press play. The production on Sittin’ on Daytons, courtesy of producer and artist of Yellow Broadcast Mauni Catalina, however isn’t quite the traditional Texas sound. With the lack on deep southern drum patterns and slowed parts, I would place it in the realm of modern, indie hip hop, different from Juiced’s wave in experimental, alternative rap. What their listeners can rely on is the Texas slang, accent and swag that’s embedded in the lyricism. The songs Wheels Fall Off and Crash are two of my favorite tracks due to the level of introspection that I detected in the tracks. Sittin’ on Daytons is an enjoyable body of work that has the potential to expand and broaden Yellow Broadcast’s fanbase.
