Frozen Soul new song with a gory video to match and new album cover + announcement.

Texas’ coldest death metal band Frozen Soul announced the release of their second full length album, Glacial Domination, available on streaming platforms May 19, 2023. Accompanying the announcement was the release of their single, Morbid Effigy, with a corresponding video that’s the cherry on top of the banana split. I’m a big fan of the 80’s ominous, horror synth sound taking place as the intro to the song. Immediately afterwards featured Frozen Soul’s brutal signature riff followed by precision double pedal drumming. Chad’s menacing growl pierces through the speakers, adding an extra layer on heaviness and intimidation. The lyrics behind the track is pure poetry in the most graphic way possible (perfect for the overall aesthetic of the visual). Towards the tail end of the track was a nice bonus feature, Dying Fetus’ John Gallagher, making an awesome contribution to the song.

First and foremost, the video to Morbid Effigy is not suitable for young children. It presents the gory similarities of 80’s b side horror films; blood, cuts, sharp objects, a deranged character, etc. I was in the middle of eating a meal and quickly decided to put my plate to the side as it began. The admirable aspect of the video is the creativity behind it. The usage of horror movie prosthetics in this video fascinates me, it kept hypnotized to the screen, the same way an old slasher movie would on a late Saturday night with some popcorn and a cup of Sprite. It’s no secret that Frozen Soul has a love for horror movies; if you weren’t aware of the fact before, you’re definitely aware now.

Deepincison’s Hate5Six coverage at ALYKfest in Oklahoma

I speak for many hardcore kids when I say it is a dream to have Hate5Six cover my band. It’s like an accomplishment, a badge of honor, an award you can show your closest and dearest family members. Recently, in the past two years, DFW has been gaining a lot of exposure, courtesy of the famed videography. I Am, Ballista, Ozone and Gagging Order to name a few. A couple of days ago, DFW’s Deep Incision has been added to the list of DFW bands with Hate5Six coverage. The video is covering the band of the ALYK fest 2022 in Tulsa. Needless to say, I am extremely proud of the wonderful and talented individuals in Deepincision for this coverage and the contiunation of their journey in music. SMTB, Jesus Piece, Scowl, Zulu at Studio at The Factory (photos and article coming soon)

This past Saturday, 2/18, I attended the Show Me the Body show featuring Jesus Piece, Scowl, and Zulu. There was no way I was going to miss seeing some of my favorite current bands who happen to be some of my favorite people outside of Texas. Nothing short of love and admiration from myself and the fans as each band ripped the stage apart in their own fashion. The venue was packed, if it didn’t reach max capacity, I wouldn’t know because of how congested it was. Here are some photos from that lovely night (don’t worry, I’m working on the photos and article as we speak).
