It was a cloudy Sunday at Fred Moore Park in South East Denton. The sun peeked around the clouds every so often just to see what was going on down below .Many people, of all ages and ethnicities, from the residential area came together under one main purpose: celebrating the birthday of Marcus Washington’s deceased mother Wanara Fae Washington. Her passing was sudden as she suffered from heart failure on October 06, 2018.

“As a mother she took care of us the best way she could because we didn’t have much coming up other than the help from our grandparents.” Marcus says as he explains their relationship with his mother, ”Our relationship was special because it was like I had a mother and a friend. We would call and text randomly, sometimes I would think she would text to much “ he laughs

She was also very well known and loved in every community and city she stepped her feet into. She was the “mother of all people”. Very kind and amiable, she wasn’t hesitant to invite people in if they didn’t have a place to stay. “She talked to everyone and would cuss you out in a second.” Marcus reminisces.
