Twilite Lounge 11/9/19

It was a little past 9:30 pm as I pulled up to Deep Ellum. Accompanying me was hip hop artist and pseudo comedian Christian Win and the towering lanky event curator Marlon Jones. Marlon acquired another form of art under his belt: DJing. Christian parked too close for comfort behind a white pickup truck on Commerce st. After grabbing my camera bag and Marlon’s equipment, we high tailed it to the Twilite Lounge, a bar that contained a small stage for performers and a small/ medium seating area filled with red leather booths.
Twilite was filled with older millennials occupying their Saturday night among each other and engaging in the mundane conversations ( not like it was any of my business anyways). The first familiar face was Deep Ellum’s songstress Alex Blair in what it appeared to be red biker shorts, a black long sleeve and a black dad hat with a smiley face by Christian Win. During the time before the performances, I was shooting candid photos of the scene and the people involved. I was about three Jack and Cokes in before the show started. Alex started the night off right as she poured her smooth , sultry, voice onto the mic. Shortly after, it was Christian’s turn to rock the mic and his performance was fun. The way the audience interacted was a pleasure to see, the show was intimate, delightful and very enjoyable. Check out the photos below
