Music Review: Stu Brootal’s “Death and Other Cures” ep

From Denton, Tx to Guildford, England, hip hop maniac and tattoo artist has unleashed another genius body of work titled “Death and Other Cures”, following behind his 2018 release “Life and Other Diseases, available on all platforms.
For those who don’t know, not only is Stu a lyrically madman, he’s very hardworking and self sufficient: he write his own music, produces his own beats, mixes/ masters/ engineers, etc. The work ethic he puts behind his discography is relentless and it shows when you listen to his quality of his music. What I enjoy about Stu Brootal’s music is he never ceases to bless the ears by bringing his level of introspective content carried by his rebellious nature. With a fast tongue, clever wordplay and raw talent, Stu is far from rookie status. Once a local Denton hero, it seems Stu hasn’t lost his touch… as a matter of fact…he’s gotten better.
As mentioned early on, “Death and Other Cures” is the successor of “Life and Other Diseases”. Time and life has changed in drastic ways between these two albums, including studying at ACM Guildford and recently getting engaged. There’s a sense of maturity I found in “ Death and Other Cures” that initially compelled me to continue through the entire album. When it boils down to the content, Stu pours his heart out as usual and spills flawless lyricism all over his production. The creativity flows through this album just as much or more than previous albums as he proves his versatility in songs like “Night Like This” and “Slide” ft Rod Suit, along with his wide variety of modern hip hop instrumentals.
